A few subjects which require special attention are hurriedly finished just before the semester ends in many colleges leaving the students to study for themselves concepts which for many may prove to be quite complex. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released Engineering Services Examination, 2018 notification for filling up vacant posts of Engineers (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics & Telecommunication) in various departments/ ministries.

Start Date to Apply: 27.09.2017

Last Date to Apply: 23.10.2017

Date of Preliminary Exam: 07.01.2018

Date of Main Exam: ​01.07.2018


 Eligibility:

Education qualification: 

For admission to the examination, a candidate must have a degree in engineering from a recognised university or other educational institutions.


Age Limit:
  • For General: 
  • Born not earlier than 02.01.1988 and not later than 01.01.1997 (both dates inclusive).

  • For OBC: 
  • Born not earlier than 02.01.1985 and not later than 01.01.1997 (both dates inclusive).

  • For SC/ ST: 
  • Born not earlier than 02.01.1983 and not later than 01.01.1997 (both dates inclusive).

Selection process: 

Those candidates who qualify the preliminary round will have to appear for the main exam, dates of which will be released later. Those who clear the main exam will then be called for the interview round.

The Commission will conduct the preliminary examination on January 7, 2018 to fill approximately 588 engineering positions in various departments of the central government. The admit cards will be made available on December 26.

Exam fee: 

Candidates (excepting female/SC/ST/ PH who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs 200.

 Step 1: Visit the official website Official website –upsconline.nic.in and read the complete notification

 Step 2: Then go to upsconline.nic.in and click on the link Engineering Services Examination

Step 3: There will be two parts  – Part I and II

Step 4: Read the instructions carefully and click on yes towards the bottom of the page

Step 5: Fill the required details like age, qualification etc

Step 6: In part II registration, pay the exam fees, select 
examination centre, and upload photograph and signature.

Step 7: Agree to the declaration made by you.
